The University of the West of England Goes 100% Green

From October 2016, UWE Bristol has decided to opt for a “green electricity tariff” with energy firm EDF, Switching to the greener tariff will see that annual electricity spend increase by “less than 0.3 percent from £3 million ($3.89 million).

The tariff is being made available under a new framework from energy and procurement body TEC.

UWE Bristol recently announced plans to quadruple its solar capacity with the new array, a £650,000 spend that the university says will produce more than 400 megawatt hours per year and help to save £55,000 and 200 tonnes of carbon annually.
